She remained calm and professional throughout, and showed a level of patience that would rival a saint.
I purchased a 2020 Chevy Tahoe for $38,000 from Tonkin Chevrolet, and from the very beginning, it had a serious issue—it would not hold air in the tires due to the chrome rims.
Once I identified the problem, I brought it back immediately because this is a major safety concern. I was told the issue had been fixed. However, after being out of the country for two months, I returned to find two flat tires again—clearly, the problem was never properly resolved.

Great dealership. The salesman was a good guy and did his best. In the end we got a fair final price on a great vehicle. A few too many trips to the mystery manager though. We were paying cash and should have been in and out of there in an hour or two, four hours later we finished and went home with a new suburban that we came for. But, the salesman was a good guy in the end and would recommend him.

I was in from out of town and called last minute for an oil change and was able to get in within a half hour. Oil change was complete in less time than expected. The lady at the service counter was very helpful and friendly. I have been very happy with their service and in fact I use this dealership rather than the one close to my home because I am so much happier with the service at Tonkin.

This is the place that gives dealership bad reputations. Kyle Christensen and his team make empty promises, excuses, and if they make a deal there is no after sale customer service. My son bought a used truck, completed understand “as is” but we drove it home at 6pm and when he was driving home which is 10 miles from the dealership the Check engine light comes on and the blinker starts blinking super fast. I took my 22 Chevy High Country into repair it will not shift into Park I was told it's not broken off to even locate needed repair and I would have to wait until the break is worse for them to detect it to fix it
Working with Daniel Sulivan was a pleasure. He made sure I understood the process that we were going through to upgrade my truck from a 1500 to a 2500. It took some time, which Danny made sure I had plenty of Coffee. This is the 2nd truck I have purchased from Tonkin Hillsboro Chevrolet and will go back if trouble or increased need arises
Danny and Jose worked to get us our “new” to us 2018 Lincoln MKX. We were treated with respect and feel that we got a nice vehicle 🚗. Also , a nice plus was free maintenance for 1 year or 15000 miles!

Overall the experience was good. My primary issue was the lack of disclosure early on about a coating treatment the dealer had applied to the car. In the end, they reduces the sale price and the cost of the finish, so it worked out OK. I was hoping to avoid this type of price negotiation. The Car also qualifies for the $4000 federal tax credit for used EVs, and we discussed that, but I have nothing (yet) from the dealership verifying that qualification or the required reporting to the IRS within three days.
I have bought 6 new vehicles in my life and dreaded going to a dealer and get upsold or downsold. I visited 6 other Chevrolet Dealers before visiting Tonkin Dealer in Hillsboro and walked away from 3 in total disgust. Lies, deceit and total lack of integrity I encountered.
I was supposed to meet with another associate who was absent when I arrived, but Jose stepped up to the plate and listened to what I wanted and helped through all phases of the sale. He is understanding, compassionate, confident and very professional with his business.

After driving from Our house near Elkton, we were greeted by salesman we were talking to over phone. He informed us he had moved car right by entrance to his office to keep an eye on it, so no one would decide to buy. The salesman and other members of sales crew were informative, friendly and very professional. The ones necessary to complete the sale stayed late so we wouldn’t need to make the 3 1/2 hour drive again. So, we were able to take the car home that night.

My 2018 Colorado developed a transmission shudder. Cheryl, from Tonkin Chevrolet service, Hillsboro, OR, suggested the fix could be changing out the ATF fluid to Mobile 1 synthetic....so far, the shudder is going away & the transmission shifts more smoothly. I am optimistic the problem has been resolved.
I live out of state, but Maria has been very acommodating to answer all questions, even at the request of needing pictures of the car taken. They made purchase process easy. Most impressive, they reply to your requests and/or questions quite rapidly.
